Like the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz, I was blush red and tongue-tied recently when several fellow bloggers stepped forward and nominated The Palladian Traveler for an ILLUMINATING and BLOG OF THE YEAR 2012 (4 stars) awards.
And now, thanks to Lisa of Oceanbound’s Adventures, I have to live with the added weight of being recognized as a BEAUTIFUL blogger. You see, Lisa handed me the “virtual” keys to the Emerald City in the form of a BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD nomination. Shucks Lisa, I’m speechless AGAIN!
With tail in hand and mustering up what little courage this real-life Leo has in the tank, I warmly thank Lisa for the nomination and happily accept the BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD.
Like any award doled out around the WordPress blogosphere, there’s a script to follow in order to pick up the hardware:
1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
2. Post the award to your page.
3. Tell seven facts about yourself.
4. Nominate seven bloggers and tell them about it.
Opening the door just a crack, here are seven facts about The Palladian Traveler: (1) I double-knot my shoelaces. (2) I graduated from the University of Maryland (B.A. History) and Boston University (M.Ed.), but never set foot on either campus. (3) Baseball is my favorite sport and the St. Louis Cardinals my favorite team. (4) I once was an avid runner with a personal best of 3:30:00 in a cross-country marathon. (5) I attended the Academy Awards twice. (6) My favorite TV show is Seinfeld. (7) My favorite color is BLUE.
In return for receiving the award, I’ll “pay it forward” with my seven — aka The Magnificent Seven — BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD nominees (L to R):

Chili Marmalade: Whether inside or outside her kitchen, Emily’s culinary adventures are always a fun read.
Travels and Trifles: Tina expresses her creative thoughts through the lens of her highly polished camera.
Part of My World: Christine shares her great travel adventures with exciting photos and copy.
Zeebra Designs & Destinations: Lisa’s artistic eyes never rest through her artwork, photography and well-written narratives.
Mark R. Milan – British expat takes you on great urban photoshoots around Bulgaria.
Algarve Blog: Dave and Aly say “obrigado” and blog about their newly discovered life in their creative hideaway of Algarve, Portugal.
Go Jules Go: Laugh your derrière off with Julie, a zany, Freshly Pressed writer/blogger/chipmunk enthusiast who admits she’s inspired by the ridiculous.
Thanks again Lisa for the BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD nomination, and a tip-of-the-hat to The Magnificent Seven above for their great (beautiful) blogs.

Okay JULES. I didn’t receive any Oscars, just attended two of shows courtesy of the Academy. Congrats again, you BEAUTIFUL blogger.
Hahaha. Now I’m singing that James Blunt song, “You’re beautiful, you’re beautiful it’s true.” You must realise that we Leo’s are indeed beautiful people, and will eventually be recognised as such. 😀 Congratulations to you, Tom.
