Italy Magazine 2014 Blogger Awards logo
OMG! I just got word that my blog, The Palladian Traveler, has been shortlisted for the Italy Magazine 2014 Blogger Awards.

It’s a huge honor just to be nominated, but an even greater one to win.

First, The Palladian Traveler is in the running for Best Travel Blog. And, secondly, a stand-alone piece, Passeggiata Palladiana (co-authored with Orna O’Reilly of Orna O’Reilly: Traveling Italy) has been selected as a finalist in the Best Single Travel Post category.

In Italy Magazine‘s announcement describing the selection process, “We talk everyday to lovers of all things Italian across the web through our website, our newsletter, Facebook and Twitter, and consider bloggers who share the same passion for Italy a great resource for our readers. This year we were truly overwhelmed by the response. We’ve received over a thousand nominations and are thrilled with the new blogs that we are discovering every day and the love these blogs show for Italy.”

The Prow and Joy of Venice | ©2014 thepalladiantraveler.comVoting is now underway for the Italy Magazine 2014 Blogger Awards and continues until February 27th. Winners in all ten categories will be announced on March 3rd.

If you enjoy reading my dispatches from the cobble as much as I enjoy delivering them to you, then cast two votes for The Palladian Traveler as the Best Travel Blog (click HERE) and for crafting the Best Single Travel Post (click HERE).

Hopefully, with your support, I’ll be one of last travel scribes standing.

Grazie mille!

Tom traded his hometown St. Louis Cardinals' baseball cap in the United States for a Borsalino and he now hangs his "capello" in the Puglia region of southeastern Italy. A veteran print and broadcast journalist, with well-worn passports that have got him into and out of 50 countries and counting, Tom fell in love with the "Bel Paese" years ago. As he notes, "I'm inspired by the beauty I find in all things that are very, very old, and reliving history, or at least meandering along cobblestone streets that were laid down over a thousand years ago and just looking up and marveling at what occupies the space still today, really gets my 'Vespa' running." Tom has a good eye behind the lens and is a graphic storyteller, but he'll let you decide as he keeps his camera batteries fully charged and the posts flowing from his creative hideaway in the hills overlooking Ostuni. You can also follow his dispatches along the cobblestone via TravelingBoy.com.
