I spent a few hours the other day flying Sparky, my DJI Spark drone, around my neighbor’s sprawling estate, Trullo GamberoViola in the Valle d’Itria of the Alto Salento sub-region of Puglia in southeastern Italy.
Filled with olive and fruit trees, colorful plant life and a greenhouse built to house and nurture their exotic collection of orchids from around the world, Trullo GamberoViola, with its signature conical-shape trulli roofs, is a real Shangri-La tucked away in our laid-back, quiet-as-a-mouse neighborhood.
Paid in full by Daniele and Margherita, the owners of the estate, with a patio lunch of cheese, artisan olive bread and sparkling organic wine, along with a takeaway basket of just-off-the-tree figs, I exchanged the obligatory two-cheek kisses, waved goodbye and Sparky and I headed back up the lane to my house to begin the editing process on all of the aerial footage that I, actually Sparky, shot from way up there.

Wow, what a place! Your payment sounds delicious and I enjoyed the video, even while it reminded me of the personal privacy issues drones bring up.

Thanks for the thumbs up. Btw, they invited me down to fly my drone over their property and create a video for them. No privacy issues here.
I understood that, Tom, but I was thinking that many people could be surveilled by drone without permission and even without seeing the drone.
