My Big Fat Italian Easter

My Big Fat Italian Easter | ©Tom Palladio ImagesThere’s an old Italian saying: Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi — Christmas with your family, Easter with whoever you like.

For both holidays, it means getting down to serious business seated around the table savoring an endless parade of homemade, regional dishes — antipasti, first and second courses, and desserts  — all prepared with lots of TLC.

Back a few Decembers ago, I posted My Big Fat Italian Christmas. If you missed reading about that mega yultide food-a-thon, just click HERE.

My Big Fat Italian Easter | ©Tom Palladio ImagesUnlike the aforementioned saying, I normally spend Pasqua (Easter) with family — my true friends — down in Rome, and manage to survive the nearly four-hour feast around la tavola, prepped by Mila and Claudia, my daughter’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law, two romani who really know their way around la cucina. But, who’s complaining? Certainly not me!

Buon appetito e Buona Pasqua!
