Fresh off a ski week — no broken bones, in case you’re wondering — high in the Dolomites around the Val Pusteria of the Trentino Alto Adige region of northern Italy, my trusty iPhone 5 served as my workhorse lens in capturing some of the moments that were just too cumbersome to handle with my standard kit of DSLRs.
Getting on and off chairlifts and funiculars, I didn’t have to struggle with a backpack to get to my gear. Nope, I just unzipped one of the pockets on my ski jacket, pulled out the handheld, framed the scene, locked in the AE/AF focus, and shot or panned away.
Quick on the draw, without the nifty iP5 I would’ve come back empty handed and you wouldn’t be able to head up and downhill with me, virtually.

WLIAF — With layers of ski clothing, the cold weather wasn’t too bad to handle. You get quite a workout chugging down the slopes and easily work up a sweat, or, in your case, a glow. Thanks for the comment.
The bottom panorama wins my vote as best shot. So glad you had fun and emerged unscathed. I haven’t been skiing for some years but I do love a good black run!
