If you’ve been following this blog recently, then you’re aware that I just spent two weeks in the Valle Salus (Healthy Valley) known as Terme di Comano, up in the Trentino Alto Adige region of northern Italy, undergoing medically prescribed water therapy at the Grand Hotel Terme to treat a skin disorder that’s been nagging me for quite a while.
As I noted in an earlier post, the magical mountain spring water already is having a positive effect.
In between my two-a-day thermal baths and the 4-5 glasses of the H2O that I drank daily, I was out and about with my cameras capturing some of the picture-postcard perfect scenes that unfolded not too far from my retreat.
All together, I shot 1,615 frames on two DSLRs and an iPhone 5 (gotta love the panorama feature), and incorporated quite a few of those shots in 11 Under Doctor’s Orders photo essays that I published about my stay and visits around le Giudicarie.

During these photo shoots, I went back into time to almost 6,000 years ago, documented Marian apparitions, was eye-to-eye with a llama (he/she didn’t spit), walked the cobble of medieval villages and hamlets, saw John Lithgow’s Italian look-alike, met some of the friendliest people on the planet, and, of course, ate and drank incredible regional foods and wines.
The hotel service was some of the very best that I have ever experienced in my life; the Comano water “cure” really works; and, I’ll go back in about six months to do it all over again.
Look, I’m terribly sorry that I had to put you through virtual torture during the Under Doctor’s Orders series of posts. You know, looking at mouth-watering dishes that you couldn’t savor and staring at spectacular sights that I photographed that you couldn’t experience.
Mea culpa, but I was just following my doctor’s orders.

This series from your retreat is packed with a treasure trove of images that tell about your nourishing and nurturing experience. I just started to explore the panorama feature, which I’ve done minimally in the past. You’ve inspired me. Do you think that I should add it to the Phoneography Challenger’s Choice? Problem: I do not know if other Smartphones have it. Great post.
Sally — Thanks for being inspired by me and my iPhone panorama lens feature. Not sure you want to add panorama to the mix of categories, given not everyone has that feature on their smartphone a/o tablet. I like adding the panoramic shot to my phoneogrphy sets, but just sparingly, one, maybe two, a post. I’ll leave it up to you and your co-sponsors to sort it out
It’s probably best to just include it as an image within the themes already listed. I do not want to exclude anyone.

Sylvia — Doubt there’s a 100% cure, but the waters are working their magic and I’m seeing positive results.
