Under Doctor’s Orders: Terme di Comano

Doctor D suggested that I undergo a series of thermal baths at TdC to treat a skin disorder that I’ve been doing battle with for the past three-plus years. Supposedly, the mineral makeup of the mountain spring water around these parts — rich in bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium — is ideal for treating what ails me. With nothing to lose, I agreed with my doc and decided to take the plunge.

So, for the next 15 days I’ll be staying in the upscale Grand Hotel Terme (GHT), the only hotel right on the grounds of TdC, where I’ll be pampered morning, noon and night — if I so desire — to ensure that I get the most benefit out of the local H2O.

The TdC — surrounded by lush greenery, ponds, waterfalls and a river — is located in the vast Adamello Nature Park and surrounded by the Brenta Group of the Dolomite Mountains in the Trentino Alto Adige region of northern Italy.

I’ll save the reporting on the GHT — it’s first-class service, discreet staff, incredible dining, wonderful wines, and, most importantly, its convenient TdC-certified, in-room spa therapies — at the end of my stay.

For now, enjoy the views around the park-like grounds of TdC and inside the GHT.

  1. I’m sorry you have to deal with the skin condition but the (hopeful) cure sounds quite lovely!! I’m looking forward to seeing the photos and, in two weeks, hearing all about it. That tart or whatever looks amazing!

    1. Janet — It’s a problem that I’m dealing with, and I could not have found a prettier place to do battle than here at the TdiC and all the great scenics around these parts. I’ll unravel it all as I go along.

  2. I would please like Doctor’s D phone number and address. I think I need a prescription from him. Hope the beautiful surroundings are enough to overcome the reason you are there.

    1. Angeline — Here in Italy, the national health care system affords its card-carrying members one spa treatment a year to cure or at least alleviate what ails you. I’m sure I’ll be back here around this time next year.

  3. Enjoy your rejuvenation….that scenery would set my heart aflutter. I look forward to seeing more wonderful images….that fruit tartlet looks absolutely scrumptious! Best to you, 🙂
