Just last week I posted a blog on La Rua, Vicenza’s symbolic “wheel of fortune,” that has been “spinning for almost 600 years.

Sadly, today the city dismantled it and shipped La Rua off to a warehouse where it will remain in pieces, like an Indiana Jones-found artifact, until next September, when it will be reassembled, marched back out and stand proudly, once again, in iconic Piazza dei Signori, the epicenter of Vicenza’s centro storico (historic center).
If you missed seeing La Rua in all its glory and color, what a shame. Best circle your calendar for September 2014.
