Hotel Turistica: Fun for Families and Foodies, Too

Just a block over from the hustle and bustle of the lungomare (boardwalk) sits the second most popular family-friendly hotel in all of Senigallia, the Hotel Turistica.

According to TripAdvisor, the user-generated travel website, actual vacationers who have made the Spiaggia Velluto their summertime destination return to the Turistica again and again.

Fresh off a weeklong stay there with my posse, I give the Turistica — a three-star, 59-room, renovated mid-rise along the Riviera Adriatica of the Marche region — a tip of my white Borsalino. And, for lots of great reasons.

A comfortable establishment, owned and operated by Franco Manoni and family, with a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere, the Turistica has a time-tested reputation of delivering high-quality service at affordable rates. My seven-night, single-room stay, with full board option (beverages not included), set me back 560€, or just 80€ a day during late August.

There’s a good reason why the Turistica is #2, la famiglia Manoni just tries harder.

The hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool, spa or other amenities you’d find at a pricey resort hotel, and why should it? The long and wide velvety-sand beach fronting the Adriatic Sea is less than a five-minute leisurely stroll from the hotel lobby.

There’s also complimentary parking, WIFI access, use of the hotel’s stable of bicycles, and, a reciprocal arrangement with one of the private bagni (beach clubs) for hotel guests and use of all of its amenities: loungers, umbrellas, cabanas, showers, restrooms, kiddie playground, trampolines, ping-pong, soccer and volleyball.

Still not enough? Then, how about the Turistica’s large wrap-around veranda for enjoying that pre-dinner aperitivo or post-dinner caffè as the warm summer breeze stops by to keep you company, or the hotel’s rooftop terrace with its picture-postcard perfect views of the sea.

If the Blue Flag-rated Spiaggia Velluto’s Levante and Ponente sides of the kilometers-long beach and the amazing sunrises and sunsets you can admire barefoot draw you to Senigallia, then it’s Chef Santini and his creative Marchegiano kitchen that’ll have you booking the Turistica for an authentic Italian seaside vacation.

Rather than read about it, why not enjoy a virtual tasting of some of the dishes that’ll be placed in front of you inside the festive dining room of the Turistica.

If you really want to go native and experience a true Italian beach vacation just like gli italiani, then the Turistica should be your family’s choice if Senigallia is your destination.

    1. Bring your horse, too; the dining room wait staff was always coming around “forcing” seconds on me. It was the best seven days of sit-down lunches and dinners I have ever experienced, and I’ve experienced a few.

  1. Grazie davvero per le belle parole spese per la nostra struttura e per la cucina che proponiamo, complimenti per il suo blog, davvero molto interessante!
