I have a sneaky suspicion that the gathering clouds above FORESHADOW a turn for the worse in the five-day forecast.
Not to worry though, I bought travel insurance with an inclement weather clause.
HEY UP THERE! YOU CAN’T RAIN ON MY PARADE. I’M COVERED!
Now, where did I put that darn umbrella.
Hmm.

Love the fork!
You should see the spoon. 🙂
Really? Or are you just pulling my leg?
Leg pull. 🙂
funny you should mention a spoon because the first thing I thought of when I saw that fork is the Walker Sculpture Garden’s spoon and cherry sculpture in Minneapolis. I wondered if the fork was done by the same artist: http://www.walkerart.org/
lovely photos!!
I don’t know. This fork, created in 1995 by artists Jean-Pierre Zaugg and Georges Favre, is stuck in Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) on the shoreline of Vevey in Switzerland. It’s there representing the Alimentarium, the world’s one-and-only food museum, operated by Nestlé, that’s opposite the fork on the dry land.
how interesting!
Entertaining posting!
Thanks!
This imagery is absolutely beautiful, I think you may have just inspired my next piece of writing.
Carol – Was there a particular photo out of this set that got your creative juices humming?
The cliff through the medieval window arch.
How appropriate for you; Lord Byron’s Grotto in Porto Venere, Italy.
How wonderful. I’m currently at university with someone who claims to be related to Lord Byron.
The images are great, except for the fork. Don’t you know that should be a spoon? 🙂
Sure, spoon because of the water, but The Fork, created in 1995 by artists Jean-Pierre Zaugg and Georges Favre, is stuck in Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) on the shoreline of Vevey in Switzerland, represents the Alimentarium, the world’s one-and-only food museum, operated by Nestlé, that’s opposite the fork over on dry land.
Ah. Shows my iggerunce. I am surprised the Swiss didn’t get all uptight about it.
What the fork…..?!?! Kind of out of character for you Tom! Love the title (and the photos of course!)
Or, “Put a fork in it, I’m insured.” 🙂
I love this set. It’s wonderful to see the different cloud formations above stunning sea/landscapes.
Thanks, TBT!
It’s been a little too good to be true for this part of the world. Sure we’re going to get our come uppance but I loved your photos anyway. 🙂
R-Jo — Can’t control the weather; we just have to roll with the punches.
Tom, I do believe this is your best writing. Your photos are good but… 🙂 Thanks for explaining the fork – I didn’t think you were into that type of photoshoping.
Thanks, Pat. Glad you liked the fork in the lake. It’s real, standing there near the shoreline come rain, come shine.
We saw lots of amazing clouds today as we neared, and finally ascended, our mountains, and some zany sculpture yesterday as well. The first of the Wyoming pictures have made it to the post as well as some from South Dakota. Tomorrow the real vacation begins.

Looking forward to your photo feeds from WY and SD.
There are several days worth up already, so enjoy. There will be more.
