Digitally Mastering the Masters

Statue of Andrea Palladio - Vicenza, Italy | ©Tom Palladio ImagesLike George Costanza from the hit American TV sitcom Seinfeld, I, too, wanted to be an architect. And, that’s probably why I’m enamored with my adopted hometown, Vicenza, Italy — the “City of Palladio.”

Budding architecture students from across the globe come to Vicenza to study firsthand the works of Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance master builder, and his disciples.

This being the week-of-the-fifth-Monday-of-the-month, our weekly get-together, known as the iPhoneography Challenge, allows aficionados of an iThingie lens to choose from Abstract, Architecture, Food, Night, Portraiture, Still Life, Street and Travel as their digital canvas.

Here’s a sampling of some of the iconic architecture, shot with an iPhone 5, that dots the landscape of the city that I now call home.

To see more submissions in this week’s iPhoneography Challenge, just click HERE.

If you occasionally shoot with an iThingie, why not join in the fun and hone your craft. There’s a rotating phoneography challenge each and every Monday. For details, visit Sally’s Lens and Pens by Sally.

Until next Monday, let your iThingie be your lens.

    1. Thanks, Sally. Just doing my best to spread the word on what can be done with an iThingie. Thanks again for the weekly opportunity for me to showcase my phoneography acumen. 🙂

  1. Nice use of light, Tom. I was just thinking this morning that I want to get to Italy, but waiting for the right travel companion. I would prefer not to do a formal tour as I like to wander freely. 🙂

      1. He is a wonderful travel companion – he just doesn’t want to go to Italy for some reason. My daughter and I had planned a trip but then decided to go to St. Petersburg instead. I’ll make it, just haven’t figured out how or when. 🙂
