Destination southwestern France: St. Emilion and Montagne

Chateau St. Jacques Calon, Montagne, FR | ©Tom Palladio ImagesMy photo shoot (vacation) around southwestern France continues from my new “home away from home,” the Chateau St. Jacques Calon in the small village of Montagne, just outside picturesque St. Emilion in the Bordeaux region of France.

Host, proprietor and fellow blogger Stéphane — he of My French Heaven fame — will ensure that my family and me will be well taken care of during our mini reunion here in the heart of French wine country.

I’ll keep this blog post short and sweet. Enjoy a few scenics from St. Emilion and a virtual tasting of what we had for dinner last night at Le Clos Mirande, a family-friendly bistro here in Montagne.

Bon appétit!

  1. Caught up with your French adventures, at last – appropriately ending up at St. Emilion, which is one of my special places, filled with history, grapes and marvellous memories. And, I’m so happy to see you stayed at Stephane’s, Tom – I’ve been drooling over his recipes and dreaming of a French trip when I might rest a while among those historic vineyards again. 🙂

    1. Thanks for catching up, Meredith. I wish I had taken more snaps around St. Emilion, but did document on the food and wine I consumed 🙂 If you get a chance, you’d be thrilled to stay at Stephane’s family chateau. Quite nice and very, very peaceful.
