Uncork a Winner: Ca’ de’ Rocchi Bardolino Chiaretto DOC

Cantine TinazziIn the fertile hills overlooking Lake Garda, in the province of Verona in Italy’s northeastern region of the Veneto, lie the sprawling vineyards of Cantina Tinazzi, one of four award-winning estates that make up the greater Casa Vitivinicola Tinazzi.

Traded domestically and internationally, Cantina Tinazzi, located in Lazise, boasts three distinct lines: Selezione di FamigliaCa’ de’ Rocchi and Le Due Giare.

It is within the Ca’ de’ Rocchi line that we find our national gold-medal rosato (rosé): Bardolino Chiaretto “Campo delle Rose” DOC.

A blend of Corvina (70%), Rondinella (10%) and Molinara (20%), Bardolino Chiaretto “Campo delle Rose”DOC, is bright rose petal in color.

It has an elegant and fruity fragrance with floral hints of blossoming roses. Delicate on the palate, it has a flavorful and smooth taste with good acidity.

Bardolino Chiaretto “Campo delle Rose” DOC pairs well with light appetizers, antipasti, pizza and grilled vegetables; first course dishes of summer-fresh pasta and seafood risotti; and, marries well with main courses of fish — fresh and saltwater varieties — and white meats.

Best served chilled at 9-10°C in a tulip-shaped glass.

  1. I never appreciated rose until one summer when I was staying with my s-i-l in Provence. She and her husband have an incredible cellar but it was so hot, we couldn’t even drink their wonderful reds. But the roses tasted great.
