Marianne, the Iberian Peninsula-based hostess of East of Málaga and the genius behind the monthly Conejo Blanco Blog Hop (CBBH) photo post, would like us to capture a bit of déjà vu with our lenses: Same Subject, Different Time.
I’ll get to my short photo-essay on this month’s subject in a sec, but part of the fun of participating in the monthly CBBH is that Marianne gives us the opportunity to “cross-pollinate” on her blog — to throw the spotlight on a couple of our fellow bloggers that we’ve chatted it up with recently.
For me, that’s a fotog and a foodie. I’d appreciate it, and I’m sure they would, too, if you’d hop on over to see what Harold’s got cooking through his lens, and what Luffy’s got percolating on her cooktop.

In the Centro Storico (Historic Center) of Vicenza, Italy stands one of the city’s most photographed structures and romantic spots: Ponte San Michele (St. Michael’s Bridge).
I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve meandered across her cobblestone, but whenever I do I always seem to be drawn to her appeal and just start clicking away with my camera.
Depending on the time of day and the weather above, she changes her look almost as quickly as a busy runway model during Fashion Week in Milano.
Built between 1621 and 1623 by the architectural team of Tomaso and Francesco Contini, Ponte San Michele — one of the eight bridges in the Centro Storico that cross over the “City of Palladio’s” three rivers — was modeled after the single-span bridges that dot the canals of Venice.
Made of locally quarried rock and stone, Ponte San Michele is one of the spots where, late at night, young lovers escape to embrace and steal a kiss as the narrow Fiume Retrone flows quietly underneath.

All those photos are gorgeous!! I was in Vicenza once many years ago for just a day, but I remember how lovely it was. There are some great shops there and I had my first Italian thin crust pizza made in a wood-burning oven there, too. Delicious!!

WOAH! Ponte San Michele looks magnificent at any time, but in the red glow of an evening it’s spectacular, Tom. This is obviously a favourite place of your to take photos, and why not? How I love this part of Italy 🙂
