In the original caper movie, starring Frank Sinatra, and the remake, starring George Clooney, Danny Ocean puts together a crackerjack team of ten other thieves to undertake the biggest heist ever along the Las Vegas Strip.
That team, Ocean’s Eleven, lifted the loot right off the green felt at three of the town’s biggest casinos.
Recently, Stephanie and Mark, two of The Palladian Traveler’s Good Chefs, put together a mouth-watering, multi-course, holiday-birthday dinner and invited over nine of their best friends to “rob them blind,” I mean, partake of their culinary acumen.
Both the movie(s) and the dinner party involved eleven “stars” around the blackjack/dinner table.
Unlike the original 1960 feature, where all the loot goes up in smoke inside the coffin during cremation, Stephanie and Mark’s version of the “heist” went off without a hitch and nothing was burnt, unless the recipe called for it.
Word on the street has it all the plates were wiped clean.
Here’s how Stephanie and Mark’s “Ocean’s Eleven” holiday-birthday dinner caper went down…

What a great idea Wish I could have partaken also, 😃
Me, too; unfortunately, I’m just the messenger in this “caper.”
Oh my! I feel bad that my invitation got lost in the mail. Beautiful images that have me salivating. Guess I’ll wipe the drool off my chin and go fix my simple lunch. 🙂
Pat – Don’t feel too bad, I wasn’t invited either!
Now I feel better. Thanks for a good laugh.
Chip off the old block. Booze in practically every dish! No Brad Pitt, though…. 😉 sigh….
Helen – Chip off “mama’s” block, not mine. About Brad, sorry, he was just second banana in O-11, 12 and 13; so, not worthy of a mention.
Brad is ALWAYS worthy of a mention!
Such an elaborate feast to be able to be a food robber. Beautifully captured and shared.
Thanks Emily. Actually, my daughter and her beau put it together. I was just the “messenger” in this culinary caper.
Shrimp bruschetta with limoncello? Seriously? How does one acquire THAT recipe?
I’ll have to ask the “chef” to share the recipe. I’ll get back to you soon.
Grazie!
Yummy!!! Beautiful shots!!!
RV – Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Much appreciated. TPT
We’re available for the Ocean’s 13 Party! The food looks absolutely phenomenal!
Laurel – I’ll be sure and let the “chefs” know you’re interested in attending O13; but, what about O12? Say “hey” to Denise for me.
